Shot my first gymnastics meet this past weekend and it was very interesting.
OK, let me rephrase that. I shot my first collegiate gymnastics meet. Prior to this I photographed a giant meet with the Free Press that was incredibly boring because everyone did the same routine.
I shot the 70-200 for most of the meet (vault, uneven bars and balance beam) then used the 24-70 for floor exercise. It was a good decision on my part as the wide angle let me get some really good shots of the gymnasts in mid air.
Really allowed me to see how high they get off the ground. Amazing athletes.
