Wall Ball

Finally, baseball season is here. That makes me very happy. Finally back outdoors taking shots.

This game was the Reed-Custer Comets against the Pontiac Indians on Tuesday, March 23. Good game to start off. Grabbed some pretty decent shots that you can find here and the game itself was good.

This is centerfielder Grant VanHaelst for the Comets. He had a nice beat on the ball but realized too late how close to the fence he was and took a header into it. He was OK.

He came up in the bottom half of the inning and belted a home run, going 3-for-3 with single, double and home run, 2 RBIs, 3 runs scored, and was the winning pitcher.

Not a bad day after getting up close and personal with the wall.

Just wish I had a 400mm to capture it better.

  2. Mr. Van Haelst,

Thank you very much. I have a ton of photos from this past season, I can forward the links over. Unfortunately I don’t work at the Free Press anymore, but plan on getting out to some games at Reed-Custer on the weekends to get some shots.
