Lending a helping hand
Back in the summer I photographed a camp put on by our pop warner program. The story behind the camp was one of the best I’ve had to write about.
The Wilmington Bobcats wanted to host a camp, it was open to any kid, Bobcat or not, Wilmington resident or not. The league said they couldn’t have because it was the Bobcat coaches were hosting it, threatening the camp itself.
The Bobcat coaches reached out to some of the former high school Wildcats and they responded by volunteering to run the camp, three days, three hours a day.
With the help of the Wildcats, about a dozen of them, it went on without a hitch. There was about 50 kids who came to the camp (roughly).
These are some of the photos I took from the camp.
